Key Pillars
The Lürssen Foundation was established to support responsible change and innovative solutions in the maritime industry. Built on three core pillars, the Foundation actively supports emerging talent through a guided scholarship programme and invests in organisations and startups that are making a positive difference in our industry and the wider community. These are the pillars:
Knowledge Programme | Advancing maritime engineering excellence through education and hands-on experience.
Startup Support | Funding and mentoring innovative projects tackling sustainability challenges.
Community Impact | Investing in local maritime communities and fostering social developments.
Through the Lürssen Foundation, we are mentoring engineers equipped to lead responsible change and digital transformations in the maritime industry, while driving societal progress to transition to a more sustainable future.
The mission
Founded in 2024, the Lürssen Foundation has set out on an ambitious mission: to become a central hub for sustainable innovation in the maritime sector. To make steps towards releasing this goal, the Foundation has launched a six-month scholarship programme to guide innovative thinking in clean energy within the maritime industry. By supporting the research of talented students and scholars under the mentorship of industry experts, we strive to help shape a better future today.
In addition to the scholarship programme, the Lürssen Foundation is seeking partnerships with organisations dedicated to urban development in coastal regions, as well as startups which are advancing sustainable transitions and digital transformations within the maritime industry.
