Pantelleria, the Italian island southwest of Sicily once known by its Latin name Cossyra, was the primary inspiration for the 67-metre KOSSYRA. Just like the island, KOSSYRA encapsulates a blend of tranquillity and vitality. This is a quintessential Mediterranean superyacht that provides an escape from the frenetic pace of everyday life. The yacht's exterior design mirrors the island's rugged beauty, with lines shaped by the powerful Maestrale wind, echoing the iconic architecture of Pantelleria's Dammuso rooftops. These elements converge to form dynamic yet graceful exterior contours, evoking a sense of movement and serenity. Opulence takes a back seat onboard KOSSYRA. The interior design redefines luxury with two novel hallmarks: simplicity and calmness. Minimalist aesthetics blend seamlessly with organic, flowing curves, fostering an environment that encourages relaxation and introspection. KOSSYRA features double-height ceilings that enhance openness, versatile indoor-outdoor areas for various leisure activities, and unexpected viewpoints like the wheelhouse and engine room. The cave-carved beach club further strengthens the connection to the sea, offering a profound and immersive maritime experience. In line with the island's sustainable ethos, KOSSYRA integrates cutting-edge technology to minimise its environmental footprint. The latest ABB Dynafin system has been fitted to optimise costs, consumption, and efficiency, while innovative wind energy generation systems explore new frontiers in eco-conscious yacht design. KOSSYRA represents more than just a vessel; it embodies a harmonious blend of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability, offering a sanctuary where guests can disconnect from the chaos of the world and reconnect with the serene beauty of the Mediterranean. Meet Salvatore Canzoneri
What drew you to yacht design?
Summer trips around the Mediterranean. Being Sicilian, I was born by the sea, and even as a child, I was captivated by the magic of yachts entering port. I would then spend entire days drawing these yachts in my notebooks.
Which designers inspire your craft?
There are many. Each designer has their own unique style and conception of living by the sea, all creating distinctive shapes that are harmonious with nature.
How would you like to see yacht design evolve?
I envision the yachts of tomorrow maintaining elegance and a deep connection with the naturalness of the sea. Designers will continue to create a perfect harmony between the yacht and its surrounding environments, without falling into the trap of excess.
