2. DATA COLLECTION ON OUR WEBSITE
When you use this website, a variety of data are collected. Some of that data is personal data as defined in data protection legislation (in particular the GDPR). Personal data are data that can be used to identify you personally. In this statement, we explain what concrete data we collect and how we use them.
2.1 Use of the website
Some data are sent to our servers automatically by your browser when you visit the website (server log files), or through the use of technically necessary cookies. These are mainly technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system, IP address, referrer URL or time and date of your visit, as well as dwell time). As far as this includes personal data, we process them based on our legitimate interest of providing you with a functioning, secure website (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).
We process these personal data only for as long as they are necessary to achieve the purpose of a functioning and secure website. Beyond that, we store these personal data only to assert or defend against legal claims, or as long as we are legally required to store them.
2.2 Contacting us (contact form)
Other personal data are collected when you provide them to us. In particular, these are data you enter in our contact form.
If you send us an inquiry through our contact form, we process and store the information you provide in the inquiry form including the contact data you enter there for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case we have follow-up questions. We process these data based on contract fulfilment (Art. 6 (1) b GDPR) and, if there is no contractual connection, based on our legitimate interest in offering you good service and respond to your contact request appropriately (depending on its content), or to initiate further measures (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).
We process the data you enter in the contact form only for as long as this is necessary to process the request you expressed in the contact form. Beyond that, we store these personal data only to assert or defend against legal claims or as long as we are legally required to store them.
2.3 E-mail newsletter
When you sign up on our website for an event or for receiving notifications about or invitations to future events, we collect the following data from you: name, first name, e-mail address and (voluntary) name of your company.
We process these data exclusively for sending you the requested information and do not share them with third parties. These data are processed exclusively based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). Your given consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending you information about events or invitations to future events can be revoked at any time by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address listed in the invitation. Your revocation does not affect the legitimacy of data processing that has already occurred. The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving event information and invitations are stored by us on our servers until you are removed from the distribution list, and deleted after you unsubscribe from the distribution. After you are removed from the distribution list, we may store your e-mail address in a so-called blacklist in order to prevent future mailings. The data in the blacklist are only used for this purpose and not correlated with other data. This is both in your interest and in our interest in complying with legal requirements regarding the sending of e-mails (legitimate interest as defined in Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to this storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
